OUR INVOLVEMENT
FJD Consulting have been commissioned by Amey to act as the Lead Civil Engineering Designer for the enhancement works of Quakers Yard Station, located on the line running between Merthyr Tydfil and Abercynon.
This included the redevelopment of the single-platform station into a two-platform station complete with new passenger facilities, and fully accessible with step-free access for persons of restricted mobility.
FJD undertook the detailed design of the foundations, platform extensions, new platform construction, step-free ramp access and a new footbridge. As the lead designer, we coordinated the integration of the requirements of track alignment, signalling and M&E/Telecomms in the design scheme using BIM.
TECHNICAL EXPERTISE

o Level boarding design;
o Fencing design.
