We are delighted to announce that FJD Consulting have been shortlisted for the Women in Rail ‘Top Employer of the Year’ Award. The Women in Rail Awards aim to showcase and reward individuals and companies (large and small) who have made a signiﬁcant contribution to improving gender balance, equality, diversity and inclusion within the UK railway industry.
Women in Rail is an organisation founded with the purpose of improving diversity in the UK rail industry by creating opportunities and a support system for all women working in rail, as well as motivating employers to adopt diversity as a business strategy and engage in promoting careers in rail to young people.
The award category recognizes FJD Consulting’s proactive steps to developing an inclusive culture, with a focus on designing policies that would foster female talent retention such as enhanced sick pay, maternity leave policies, and part-time or flexible working around study.
FJD were recognised as an equal opportunities civil engineering consultancy that has a diverse workforce with an age range between 18 and 60 years old. Our culture has grown beyond recognition from an all-male company to recruiting and promoting female colleagues. Female staff have joined and continue to join during their ‘year-out’ placements and have been encouraged to return following the end of their study. FJD have signed up to the EDI Charter in 2020 and is a strong advocate of its values and practices.
This year, the awards will take place at Roundhouse, Camden, London on the 19th of May. We are looking forward to attending the ceremony and hopefully come back as Women in Rail’s Top Employer of the Year!
